Local Testing on Real Devices Using the Pcloudy Desktop Assistant

Overview:

Local Testing on Real Devices using the Pcloudy Desktop Assistant gives you a seamless way to test your web and mobile apps on real devices directly from your local machine. It lets you launch your preferred browser, debug elements, inspect UI behaviour, and run quick validations without deploying builds or uploading files.

Prerequisites

  • User must have the Pcloudy Desktop Assistant (PDA) installed on their local machine
  • User must be registered Pcloudy account

Steps

Install the Pcloudy Desktop Assistant (PDA)

  1. Download the appropriate Pcloudy Desktop Assistant (PDA) from the ( Sample Project ) and install it into your local machine.

  2. Once the PDA is installed, please start the application.

  3. Update the Username, Access Key, Cloud URL on the PDA application.

    note

    This information is available in the quick access tab on the left panel on the Pcloudy platform.

  4. Once all the information is updated, click on the right arrow on the PDA to submit.

  5. Select the Wildnet tab by default and click on Activate.

  6. The red dot against Wildnet will turn green, and a success notification message will appear.

Setup the Local Testing on the Remote Device

  1. Click on Real Devices under the Functional Experience tab in the Left Panel of the Pcloudy platform
  2. Select the device and click on Start Testing.
  3. Select Local Testing on the left panel and click on Enable Local Testing.
  4. The user will receive a success notification.
  5. The user can now perform various testing tasks on the device.
  6. The user can install an app using the Install button under the Quick Actions Panel.
  7. Simply select the app and click Install.
  8. Once the Application is installed on the device, the user will be able to test locally the installed mobile app.
