Geolocation Simulation for Real Device Testing

Overview

Simulating device location enables teams to evaluate how their apps behave across different geographic conditions without needing physical movement or on-site testing. By virtually shifting the device’s GPS coordinates, testers can validate location dependent features, detect region specific issues, and ensure consistent user experience across global markets.

This capability is especially useful for apps that rely on maps, navigation, geofencing, localized content, or compliance with regional rules. The Pcloudy platform allows seamless simulation of any latitude and longitude on real devices, making it possible to verify performance, responsiveness, and feature accuracy across multiple locations in a controlled, repeatable environment.

Prerequisites

  • User must be registered Pcloudy account

Steps

  1. Login to the Pcloudy platform

  2. Select Real Devices on the Pcloudy Dashboard

  3. Click on Mobile Browser on the Real Devices page

  4. Enter the URL you would like to test, select the device and click on Start Testing

  5. This will automatically open the URL on the device browser, allow the necessary permissions to start testing.

  6. Click on the Change Location tab to open the Set Location dialog box.

  7. Either enter the Lat and Long values in the given space or you can select a space on the map to automatically populate the Lat & Long values and Click on Set.

  8. The user will receive a success notification and the device will start showing the performance of the app or website in that specific location.
