Using Reserved Devices for Dedicated Testing on Pcloudy
Overview:
Reserved Devices on the Pcloudy platform provide teams with guaranteed, exclusive access to a set of dedicated real devices that are reserved solely for their account or organization. Unlike public cloud devices that are shared and subject to availability, Reserved Devices are always accessible, ensuring consistent test environments and uninterrupted testing workflows.
This capability is ideal for teams that require predictable device access for continuous testing, long running test cycles, compliance driven validation, or parallel testing activities, allowing them to plan and execute their test tasks confidently without waiting for device availability.

Reserved Devices are dedicated exclusively to a specific user, team, or organization and are always available to them. Public cloud devices are shared across users and may be subject to availability, queue times, or usage limits.
2. Can multiple team members access the same Reserved Device?
Yes. Access to Reserved Devices can be managed at the team or organization level, allowing multiple authorized users to access the same dedicated devices based on defined permissions.
3. Are Reserved Devices available for both manual and automated testing?
Yes. Reserved Devices support manual testing, automated testing, and CI CD driven workflows, making them suitable for continuous testing and long running test executions.
4. Can Reserved Devices be customized or configured for specific testing needs?
Yes. Since the devices are dedicated, teams can maintain consistent configurations such as OS versions, apps, test data, and settings to match their specific testing requirements.
5. What happens if a Reserved Device goes offline or needs maintenance?
If a Reserved Device requires maintenance or becomes temporarily unavailable, Pcloudy support coordinates device health checks and restoration to minimize disruption and ensure continued access as quickly as possible.
