Release Note 8.7
Overview
Pcloudy 8.7 expands testing capabilities across AI driven test generation, test creation, Smart TV testing, and accessibility testing on real devices. This release introduces smarter test data management, flexible test execution, coordinate based interactions, and expanded testing coverage to help QA teams simplify workflows and validate more scenarios.
Smart TV Testing Support- Extend Real Device Testing to Smart TVs
Pcloudy now extends its real device testing ecosystem to Smart TVs, enabling teams to test OTT and media applications on real TV devices through the Pcloudy Public Cloud.
Key Highlights:
- Test OTT and media applications on real Smart TVs
- Validate application experiences in real TV environments
- Expand device coverage for media applications
- Extend testing beyond mobile devices and browsers
Enhanced Accessibility Testing on Real Devices
Pcloudy adds new accessibility testing capabilities that help QA teams validate application experiences using assistive technologies, accessibility settings, and WCAG mapped reports on real devices.
Key Highlights:
- Screen Reader Support - Validate how applications announce content to users relying on screen readers. Available on Android 16 and above, and iOS 15 and above.
- Accessibility Settings - Access controls through Settings → Accessibility in the device toolbar, including Large Text, Smart Invert, Increase Contrast, Text Size, and Reduce Motion.
- Manual Accessibility Reports - Generate WCAG mapped reports from exploratory testing sessions using screen readers and accessibility settings.
- Automation Accessibility Reports - Generate WCAG mapped reports from Appium and XCTest runs, highlighting issues such as contrast ratios, missing accessibility labels, and touch target sizes.
Seamless Debugging on the Safari and Chrome Debugger
The redesigned Safari and Chrome Debugger experience brings debugging tools directly into the device interaction window, allowing testers to inspect and debug applications without switching between separate windows. This streamlined interface makes debugging more convenient and creates a smoother testing workflow.
Key Highlights:
- Debug Safari and Chrome applications within the device interaction window
- Access debugging tools alongside live device interactions
- Eliminate the need to switch between separate windows
- Improve the overall debugging experience with a unified interface
QPilot Enhancements
Test Data Generation - AI AutoFill and Random Generator
QPilot now offers two ways to create and manage test data. AI AutoFill generates realistic, reusable sample data at authoring time, while Random Generator creates fresh values during every test run for scenarios requiring unique inputs. Teams can also import data from CSV or JSON files and reuse datasets across test cases and collections.
Comment and Uncomment Steps - Skip Steps Without Deleting Them
Temporarily disable individual test steps and restore them whenever needed. Commented steps are skipped during execution but remain saved in the test case, making it easier to isolate failures, skip unfinished steps, and retain optional steps without recreating them.
Run Tests from Any Step - Execute Only the Steps You Need
QPilot now lets you run a test from any selected step, up to a chosen step, or within a specific range. This helps teams validate edited steps in isolation, resume debugging from a failure point, and reduce unnecessary execution time.
Coordinate Based Actions - Automate Screens Without Element Locators
QPilot now supports coordinate based tapping, drag and drop, and right swipe actions. These capabilities help automate canvas based games and custom rendered screens where traditional XPath locators may not work, using natural language prompts to perform screen interactions.
Retry for Long Prompts - Retry Steps with Complex Instructions
The Retry option is now available for steps containing very long prompts, making it easier to retry them without recreating the instructions.
Key Highlights:
- Generate realistic or fresh test data with AI AutoFill and Random Generator
- Import and reuse datasets across test collections
- Comment out steps and execute selected test ranges
- Automate coordinate based interactions on complex screens
- Retry steps with long prompts more easily
