Year 2018 at a Glance!

2019 is around the corner and it’s just the time to recap on the major events and milestones of pCloudy in 2018. We thank each one of you for your immense support and trust you bestow on us that keeps us working towards improving pCloudy to meet all your testing needs.

Let’s recap:

1. User base: With an incessant growth in the app testing market, pCloudy made a remarkable progress outpacing the market growth and making more than a 100% jump in its user base. We crossed the 50,000 user milestone this year and have more than 65,000 users registered on pCloudy platform till date.

2. Immense growth in clientele and partners: This year has been a breakthrough for us in terms of setting up a one-of its kind cloud device infrastructure for one of the biggest telecom players in India. We have set up a cloud of 200 mobile devices that can scale upto 500 devices.

We have also succeeded in adding some big names in our clientele to gaining confidence among the Software industry and partnering with notable ones in the industry.

We partnered with stalwarts like UST Global, Capgemini, Marlabs, Emids, Mphasis this year while enterprises like Philips, Decathalon, Aon Hewitt, On Mobile, Kony Services, LPL got added in our clientele. We are proud to say that we have replaced our competitors in most of these accounts.

3. Major breakthroughs and Product Enhancement: In our incessant effort to make mobile app testing disruptive, faster and effective, we got some major breakthroughs this year.

Let’s have a look at them:

a) iOSConnect: Bridging the gap for iOS development lifecycle

One of the very powerful features that we added is the iOSConnect. With iOSConnect, you can connect to an iOS Device which is present remotely and access the device as if the device is connected to your computer. With iOSConnect we are bridging the gap for the iOS development lifecycle.

b) Automation Studio: Codeless Automation Tool to scale your app tests

We have added an in-built automation studio in pCloudy platform where you can access the devices to record your test scripts and execute it in parallel on multiple devices without writing any code.

c) Simpler Appium Integration Architecture

We have released a newer and simpler Appium integration architecture to simplify your Appium test execution on Android and iOS devices with pCloudy. The newer architecture make developers’ life simpler with lesser changes in the code. And wonder what! it makes you save 50% of your app testing time.

d) TouchID and FaceID for iOS devices no more a blocker

To ease out the process of authenticating TouchID or FaceID manually every time, you can now bypass the verification in your apps using our utility.

e) Test local or Staged sites with Local site emulation

It’s a path breaking feature for enterprise mobility. Local Site emulation Testing provides a platform to test private or internal servers on any Android device present on pCloudy.

4. Bringing intelligence to mobile app testing: Our AI powered bot Certifaya has been extremely successful this year in running deep exploratory tests and crash tests for our users. Certifaya has completed more than 1000 sessions in a short span of time.

Follow Me: It is again one- of -its- kind feature of pCloudy. This feature can speed up your app testing exponentially. It lets you perform tests in synchronous mode on one device that gets replicated on multiple other devices which means we have added brains in our tools to speed up your app tests.

We have also started working on the prototype for Predictive analytics and we hope to launch it with a bang by next year.

5. Year of super successful events: 2018 has been a year for super successful events. We organized our annual event ‘TEKConnect’18‘ to bring together the best of minds and solutions in order to accelerate app testing and business outcomes. We also launched our re-imagined UI with pCloudy 5.0.

We also organized our first user conference, pCloudy Engage in Mumbai this year to engage with some of the best testing practitioners among our customers.

We also participated in Techwell StarWest 2018, the biggest software testing conference in the US, and received a great response at our booth.

We were the title sponsors of Software Testing Conference in India this year and pCloudy became the talk of the town after this event. The insightful keynote by Avinash Tiwari, our co-founder on “Will AI be another Tesla for software testing” became a huge hit and we received responses like never before.

6) Recognition: pCloudy has been felicitated with the “The Smart CEO Startup50 Award: under the enterprise technology category at the prestigious “SmartCEO Startup50 Awards 2018 presented by Facebook”. It was an honor to receive the award from the renowned investor Mr. Mohandas Pai himself. He was also the chief guest at the award ceremony that day.

7) A Blend Of Work And Fun: pCloudy is not just committed to its customers but also to its employees. Bringing a smile on every pCloudian is a reward and acts as a catalyst in improving our performance. Every pCloudian believes in working hard and partying even harder.

We are thankful to each one of you for your trust and support throughout. Embarking on such a journey would have been impossible without you. We are proud of our achievements even this year but will strive to have more exciting starts and remarkable successes in 2019. Apple Announces 3 New iPhones This Year! pCloudy Committed to Provide Access to These Phone Faster Than Others

For Apple lovers, Apple’s annual hardware showcase is more like celebrating Christmas in September. Apple employees work hard in the Cupertino workshop throughout the year to be ready for this day, when CEO Tim Cook takes the stage and offers the world a brand new iPhone. Infact 3 new iPhones.

Following last year’s iPhoneX, Apple announced iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR. There was also a session showcasing its most powerful wearable till now – Apple Watch Series 4.

Don’t worry if you have missed the event. We have all covered it all for you. Read on our blog to find out all about Apple’s big event.

We will cover about the iPhones announced later in the blog. Here we will have a look at the other product line updates apart from major mobile product announcements and how well those products are doing and more. Here is the highlight:

Cook talked about all the original Apple TV programs that’s been announced so far. In addition to that, Apple just signed deals for two movies: The star wolves and elephants.
Apple is about to ship its 2 billionth iOS device.
The iPhone XS uses recycled tin and bio-based plastics (and more), part of Apple’s clean and renewable energy push.
Updates to the HomePod to makes it more useful.
Price drops on the existing iPhones, with the iPhone 7 starting at $449.

iPhone XS and XS Max

Announcement of iPhone XS and XS Max come as a relief to iPhone fans who have been busy speculating and eagerly waiting for months for this big announcement. No more wait buddies! Here is a sneak peek at the 2 iPhones announced:

The iPhone XS Max is bigger than the Note 9, and both XS Max and the iPhone XS get a makeover inside and out.
The new Core ML engine for game speed was highlighted in the mobile version of Elder Scrolls: Blades and Galaga.
They incorporate the industry’s first 7nm CPU, the new A12 Bionic.
New cameras supplemented with AI-enhanced capabilities such as Smart HDR and facial feature detection (“facial landmarking”).
They boast better battery life.
Both support dual SIMs with an eSIM and a physical nanoSIM.
iPhone XS starts at $999, the iPhone XS Max starts at $1,099. Both are shipping on Sept. 21.

iPhone XR

Since it is difficult for everyone to afford iPhone flagships, so Apple announced iPhone XR. It has an LCD-based, 6.1-inch “Liquid Retina” display.
It’s bigger but less expensive than the iPhone X.
It too incorporates the A12 Bionic chip, the same wide-angle camera as the XS models, and the same AI-driven camera features.

Six finishes, four capacities, starts at $749. Preorders start from Oct. 19 and shipping from Oct. 26.
This implies that time has come to bid goodbye to iPhones SE, 6S and 6S Plus. In other words, bid farewell to iPhones with headphone jacks.

Apple Watch Series 4

Thanks to its new zero-bezel design and having replaced the button with haptic touch regions, the new series of the Apple Watch increases its face size to 40mm and 44mm.

Comes with a bigger display and a smaller bezel, which offers 30 percent more screen space to display fitness stats, sport scores, and calendar information.
It has a better microphone and a speaker that Apple says is twice as loud as last year’s model, to make it easier to take phone calls, use the Walkie Talkie functionality, or bark commands at Siri.
A new dual core 64-bit processor, designed in-house, gives this one twice the performance speed, and a few new sensors make it possible for it to better track your health.
The Apple Watch now sends notifications when your heart rate is too low, or if your heart rhythm is irregular—helping to detect and diagnose problems early on. It can also tell if you’ve taken a hard fall, which will trigger an option to make an emergency call (literally Apple’s version of “help, I’ve fallen and I can’t get up!).
Most importantly, a new sensor in the Series 4 makes it possible to measure ECG, something that’s never been possible before in a consumer device. The FDA even gave it a seal of approval.
The watch starts at $399 for GPS, $499 for cellular. If that sounds like a serious chunk of change, some good news: The Series 3 gets a drop to $279.

We understand the pains a tester goes through and that’s why we have introduced this feature to bring an end to all your woes! Now you can log bugs directly to JIRA while you are testing your application on pCloudy. You can attach relevant data in one single click.

Let’s see how this feature can help you log bugs in JIRA:

Provide your credentials once and we store the authentication cookie provided by JIRA.

(Note : we don’t store your credentials)

After logging in you will come across a JIRA Task pop up where you can easily log a Bug or Task to JIRA along with relevant attachments (screenshots, logs or video links). No need to download a file and then upload it separately to JIRA.

3. “Certifaya” –Our AI powered App Testing engine is smarter now

Our motto is to make your life easy and we always work towards making the testing quick and simple for our clients. Not only this, we provide more and more data about the App under test to improve the quality rapidly.

6. It is easier to search a device

Searching for a device is the most frequently used task in the platform. We have made searching simpler for you. Now you can use the free text search to find a device by the name of its OS version.

Moreover, we have added quick search filters for most common searches.

7. Plan your Testing based on the availability of Devices

When you are searching for the desired devices you may not see that device online if other user is using it at the same time. You may want to plan your test activity based on the next availability of the same device. We value your time and to make your testing efficient, we have made that information available and you can see the status of some devices as ‘Busy’ if it’s in use and the indicative time by when the device will be available next.

Moreover, you can even see which devices are ‘Offline’. You can now request for such devices to be made available.

8. IOS App Resigning made easy

We have built IOS App resigning as a separate utility, so that you can resign your iPAs once and upload it on all our cloud locations.
